Mission Statement
A ministry birthed out of passion of a broken heart. A group of caring people gathered together in the name of Jesus Christ. To go to the lost and brokenhearted, to those in bondage to drugs, alcohol and all forms of addictions. To help the helpless to love the unlovable and to break the chains of bondage by the precious blood of our Savior- Jesus Christ, and by the power of the Word of God. To take His message of Love to the streets, Jails and throughout the world. To give the same comfort that God has given us.
What is our story?
Heart’s Cry Ministries is a 501-C3 non-profit ministry that operates a thrift store. Founders David and Denise Melton heard from the Lord, stepping out in faith to start Heart’s Cry. They were married May 1, 2004. Taking all that they owned and using their honeymoon money David and Denise Melton opened Heart’s Cry on May 17, 2004.

Heart’s Cry prides itself with cleanliness and order. At Heart’s Cry, you can get a free cup of coffee or hot cocoa, listen to some Christian music, have someone to pray for you or just simply shop!
Many people come in daily just to walk around in an atmosphere of love calling it their therapy.
Who do we help?
Heart’s Cry’s mission and desire is to help as many people as we can in need.
In the past and present we have worked with Red Cross, Safe Place (battered women’s center), Riverbend Mental Health Facility, Foster care, local schools, drug and alcohol programs.
In 2008 Denise’s grandmother Donna Mae went to be with the Lord and the “Donna Mae Foundation” was started. Through this foundation we have been able to help with many medical and dental needs.
In the past monetary donations, have helped to buy Christmas Gifts for nursing home residents and mentally challenged adults at Arc of the Shoals, gasoline, groceries for families, plus food to cook meals for elderly and the sick.
Every week Heart’s Cry is able to contribute to other non-profit organizations that work with the homeless.
We also have sent items to China, Russia, Haiti, Paraguay, Lesotho, Rwanda and Israel. We are presently involved in sending books, soccer equipment and medical items to Africa.
At the moment we sponsor 2 girls from Haiti, 1 girl from Burkina Faso and 1 girl from Rwanda.
